Traumanet offers reliable information, personal stories, training courses, and research on trauma and recovery.
In the process, we sometimes process personal data. We always do this carefully and in accordance with the
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).<\/p>

3. What data we collect<\/h2>

Depending on what you do on our site, we process the following data:<\/p>

  • Website visit: IP address, device, and browser data (for security and anonymous statistics via Cloudflare)<\/li>
  • Newsletter sign-up: name, email address<\/li>
  • Participation in research panel: name, email address, relationship to the topic (e.g., professional, caregiver, expert by experience)<\/li>
  • Donation or payment: name, bank account number (for administration and bookkeeping)<\/li>
  • Contact form: name, email address, message (for answering questions)<\/li><\/ul>

    4. Minors<\/h2>

    Our website is not intended for children under the age of 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
    If you believe that data regarding a minor has been collected, please email us at info@traumanet.nl;
    We'll remove it right away.<\/p>

    5. Purposes of Processing<\/h2>

    We only use your data for:<\/p>

    • Communication via email or newsletter<\/li>
    • Processing donations<\/li>
    • Improving and Securing Our Website<\/li>
    • Conducting (non-committal) research via the panel<\/li>
    • We never sell your information and only share it when absolutely necessary<\/li><\/ul>

      6. Who we work with<\/h2>

      We work with a few trusted partners (processors):<\/p>

      • MailerLite: Newsletter and Survey Email Management<\/li>
      • Cloudflare: website security and anonymous visitor statistics<\/li>
      • Our bank and bookkeeper: processing donations and payments<\/li>
      • Webinargeek: platform we host webinars with<\/li>
      • A data processing agreement has been concluded with all these parties so that your data is well protected<\/li><\/ul>

        7. Retention periods<\/h2>

        We apply the following retention periods:<\/p>

        • Newsletter and panel data: until you unsubscribe<\/li>
        • Contact forms: up to 1 year after resolution<\/li>
        • Donation and payment information: 7 years (legal requirement)<\/li>
        • Website log data (IP): maximum 3 months<\/li>
        • Afterwards, we will delete or anonymize everything.<\/li><\/ul>

          8. Cookies<\/h2>

          We only use:<\/p>

          • Functional cookies: to make the site work properly<\/li>
          • Analytical cookies (Cloudflare): anonymous visitor statistics<\/li>
          • We do not use tracking or advertising cookies<\/li>

              Send your request to info@traumanet.nl. We will respond within four weeks.
              For verification, we may ask for a copy of your ID (black out your photo, BSN, and MRZ).
              If you are dissatisfied with our handling, you can submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.<\/p>

              We take appropriate measures to prevent abuse or loss:<\/p>

              • SSL encryption on all pages<\/li>
              • Firewall and DDoS protection via Cloudflare<\/li>
              • Employee access restrictions<\/li>
              • Data storage within the EU<\/li>
              • Regular backups<\/li><\/ul>
